Hot and Dense Matter
in the RHIC-LHC Era

Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai

12-14 February, 2008

Physics motivation

The RHIC has produced a large amount of very interesting data on strongly interacting matter at very large energy density. With the start up of the LHC in 2008, and continuing upgrades to the RHIC program, we will be in the happy position of having two colliders looking simultaneously at the signatures of hot and dense QCD. The understanding of data emerging from the era of dual colliders requires a great deal of collective effort involving experimental and theoretical physicists. The main areas of interest in this workshop will be the phase diagram of QCD, jets as probes of the medium created in heavy-ion collisions, and hydrodynamic description of the medium.
