Britannia, one of Bombay's famous old Irani restaurants, is a must for those who like this kind of food. Even if you don't, you might want to drop in just to see the place. Quite apart from the fact that it is the stuff of legends, the building was designed by George Wittet, the architect of the Gateway and the Museum.
The Berry pulao is highly recommended; I find it to be one of the best in Bombay. The variety in seafood is small, but each of the items is an authentic taste of this kind of cuisine. I would recommend the Patra fish and Bombay Duck. For meats, the Sali Boti is as good as any you could find.
There is a different menu for each day of the week. The Dhansak is available only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Since I haven't been there on these days, I cannot say how it is. But maybe someone can try it out and let me know.
