This symposium will be devoted to the major conceptual issues of theoretical physics today. The emphasis will be on the unity of physics and general themes common to its different branches.  The talks will review the major recent advances in the following areas:
  • High Energy Physics,
  • String Theory and Mathematical Physics,
  • Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics,
  • Foundations of Quantum Theory.
There will be a session to felicitate and honour Professor Virendra Singh, former Director of TIFR, on his 60th birthday.
