Title:	Deterministic and stochastic models of biological evolution

Abstract:	I will discuss two problems in evolutionary biology - the first one concerns the punctuated mode of evolution and the second one addresses the problem of the evolution of sex. I will present some analytical results for these models and discuss their experimental relevance.
