I am a faculty member at the Tata
Institute of Fundamental Research
(TIFR) in Mumbai, India, in the
Department
of Theoretical Physics.
Here are some views of the Tata Institute (click to
My research deals with the physics of elementary particles,
specifically String Theory and Quantum Field Theory. If you like,
you can learn more about these subjects by going to the
Physics
page of this website. Here you will find my
publications and several
course lectures notes, articles and videos, as well as
links on particle physics and string theory for a
general audience.
I write a blog called
tantu-jaal
that you may like to look at. It is a light-hearted blog that addresses
general aspects of science, music, food, cinema, literature, politics
and of course the city of Mumbai. I also maintain a webpage in memory
of my father, the late Parsram Mukhi.
I have a serious interest in Indian Classical Music,
on which I spend a large part of my spare time. You will
find more about this on my Music page.
I maintain a website on the legendary Pandit Kumar Gandharva,
a towering intellectual figure in Indian Classical
Music.
Some Photographs from my album can
be viewed on this site.
My other interests include travel, meditation, software,
literature, cinema, photography, jazz and rock music, and
cooking. I don't claim to be
particularly good at any of these (except perhaps cooking). Some of
these interests are represented on the
Interests page.
To navigate through my Home Page, please click on any of the links above,
which are also replicated at
the left.
