The Cray XK6 hardware

The Cray XK6 is a Tesla based supercomputer. This model was introduced in 2011 and one chassis was delivered to ILGTI in 2012. This was then the first XK6 in India, and it was placed in a data center in IACS Kolkata.

One chassis of the XK6 contains 8 compute blades, each with 4 nodes. Each node is a 16-core processor working at 1.2 GHz along with an Nvidia Tesla GPU board. LINPACK performs at about 7 TeraFlops on the CPUs and 23 TeraFlops on the GPUs.
