Fonts and Software

• Proprietary:
  • C-DAC, Pune: Unix, DOS, Windows, Mac; a range of wordprocessing and related software.
  • InProS: Temporarily disabled (May 14, 1997).
  • Krishnasoft Hindi Word Processor: Windows 95/98, Windows 3.x, Windows NT, all with at least 4MB RAM; TrueType full wordprocessor, able to export to other programs like MS-Word etc, and can import graphics in several formats. Font set includes Assamese, Bengali, Devanagari, Gujarati and Gurumukhi.
  • Punjabi Guru^N: Windows 3.1, Windows 95 or later; Teaches how to read and write Hindi; contains grammar, dictionary encyclopedia and fonts.
  • Unitype: Windows 95/98 or NT 4.0; multi-language software including translations between supported languages.
  • Vijay: Mac and IBM PC; Gurumukhi fonts with phonetic keyboard mapping.
• Shareware/Freeware:
  • MS Windows Truetype Gurumukhi fonts.
  • H. S. Pannu: Windows 95, Windows 3.1, Mac; free distributions of TrueType fonts.
